Refinishing hardwood floors can be done faster by applying stain with a buffer. Wood floor stain is applied to a carpet pad and then applied with a buffer.
PBANDDJWRK is a douche for sure..... Doors and mask finished base? Your the rookie who does that for a few years before you realize it's not needed and doors are optional too. Clean machines too???? That's something a rookie would also say that isn't booked up. Restoration work is a
dirty job and I you have time to shine your machine you should probably start looking for another job...... As for the video, it's always cool to see how other people do things, I unfortunately learned by trial a
@1881steve I found a way. Double over a terry towel, pour stain on lightly, buff. It dries as it stains. Works fantastic, and not a mess at all. Cut in around walls and pour stain as needed. Simple, professional, and it works. Time is saved a little, but knees and back are what matters most to me.
@pbandjwrx I would guess you arent a floor sander. Just a troll looking to degrade someone who doesnt do something like you would. "mask off base". Are you serious? Stain wont adhear to FINISHED base. wipe it off. "Doors off hinges". For real? Doors help dust control and vapors from going throughout the house. Looks like that stain job turned out great to me. Need a job?
If these guys were professionals they would have taken the doors OFF by taking out the hinge pins, masked off the baseboards regardless of finish or color, and clean your equipment once in a while for gods sake. It is people like you that give hard working prideful blue collared workers like me a bad reputation!
if there was a machine that also wiped the stain off then i would say yea thats a life saver. Try timeing urself and see if it actually saves that much time i just dont see how with haveing to poor the stain and still wipe it down
its about the same time on ur knees or buffing if ur not that slow at it. Its a good method for the older guys that are trying to save there knees though ill admit that. But to me it looks like it would only save u maybe 10 mins or so
Floor Mechanics has top quality floor stains and floor finishes by Duraseal and Bona Kemi which can be applied with a buffer as shown in the video. After staining you can apply water-based sealers and/or finishes which are highly durable, fast drying and very low in odor. You may also choose to use oil-based floor finishes over these stains. Please look around our website and email or call with questions. Thanks!
what kind of stain did you use and did you put polyurethane on afterwards? My husband and I would like to re-do our original dining room floor so any information would be very useful and appreciated.

@ASHLEYnMIKE02
This may sound like a sales pitch but I truly recommend hiring a professional for refinishing work.
It's always more expensive to repair a botched job than to have it done right the first time.

What kind of carpet did you use for the pad? This looks like it would save a lot of time over staining with rags!!
