This is a straight video of a ride on the New Orleans streetcar showing the ride and how it goes through its route with many reminders of the Katrina storm damage within the ride. The start of the ride begins at Canal and Royal and ends at Mandina's restaurant.
Thank you soooo much for posting this video. I haven't lived in N.O. since 1966 and i was 6 years old. It was a real kick seeing the old corner Walgreen's on Canal. Nothing that beautiful in northwest Ohio.

These are original Perely Thomas cars that once roamed the old Canal line. Taken from St Charles while that line is being rebuilt. The new Canal cars are reproductions. Neat and all that, but none of the sounds you hear on this video..

thanks for the video. I was in N.O. right before Katrina (I was lucky to leave the day before the storm hit) and I remember this streetcar ride. Its amazing - when I went those streets were packed with people and now it's empty.
