Since having made my comment, I have changed opinions. I realize AFI doesn't owe me anything creatively as a fan. They're honest about the music they make and that's all anyone could or should ask from them. Thanks for being able to disagree in a totally non-disrespectful way! <3
I respectfully disagree with this comment about the chanting being awkward and obsolete. I don't feel that that's what it's about really. The chanting, we do it because it's a part of AFI, it's a part of their show and it shows our "devotion" or love of the band. Really, we're not saying, "through our bleeding, we are one," we're saying, "we love you and we're united in our love for you." At least that's what I feel and I think AFI understands this.
did he cut his hair again? it looks even shorter. and I think they still like to hear it. to know that the fans from back then are still fans now. to know that the loyalty is still there would be amazing to me if I were them
It's so awkward to hear someone shout the opening to "Strength Through Wounding" now when it's pretty obvious that AFI isn't about that anymore. It's sad. Those times of the "one dark flame" era AFI were probably among the most exciting to be a fan. It seems like that essence (which drew a countless number of people to AFI) is completely gone. CrashLove is a good album, I just have a hard time believing it's the same band I've been loving for almost ten years.

It's kinda the DF "motto." It's not so weird, really. And even the band has said that hearing the fans chanting that makes them extremely happy.

Good performance, nonetheless.
