I do 5th New York Zouave, 11th New York (1st) Fire Zouave and 146th New York Zouave and I did Louisiana Tiger Zouave re-enacting and I'm dying to get my hands on a Remington Zouave! I like doing all but I prefer New York Zouaves over everything else!!! So much fun and the uniforms look alot cooler than all others!!!!

the M1863 remington was never issued. It got it's name after the war when alot of the zouave units paraded with them. your best bet is an 1855 or 1861 springfield.

Sounds like you got some good old southern boys around you.
I reenact both North and South and I have found Southern Impression more fun.

fun for me. i've not done a yankee impression yet. but my group was hostin a living history at prairie grove state park. my gun didn't work at my first reenactment so this was the first time i got to shoot it.just wanted to see if it worked and i'm happy it did. it was cold up there i was wearin 3 layers of clothing and i was just gettin warm by the end of the day.but the group i'm with is the n.w 15th arkansas volunteer infantry co.A . it's a great group we do some decent reenactments to.
