I agree 100%. Every real amp I've played is better than the Axe (Rectifier, Herbert, VH4, Peavey XXX, Peavey 6505, Mark IV, Mark V, Mark III). I used to own the Axe, but got rid of it because it didn't impress me as a preamp and sucked tone (made tone darker). I now use the Eventide Factor pedals because they do not suck tone. Eventide is transparent and the Axe is not. I cannot comment on the transparency of the new Axe II because I haven't tried it.

Axe wets the bed when put against the Herbert. I owned an Axe and I currently own the Herbert and VH4. Every real amp I've played is superior to the Axe.
For effects, I prefer Eventide because the Axe sucks tone. It makes everything sound darker. Eventide is more transparent.

sad thing about these shows is... the spokes persons suck when they try to explain what goes on in that processor..... I love axe fx :D because of what she is :P

I have owned Diezel Herbert and Engl Fireball which you can see me play in my videos, and now own and Axe Fx Ultra with the latest firmware and I tell you it sounds better than both those amps that I had. this unit is unbeatable. Period.

@davidtodor I am speaking from experience. I owned a standard a few years back and thought it sounded no different from my old POD. But, I played around on a friend's who updated his firmware recently to the 11.0 update and it sounds phenomenal! I am currently on the wait list for an Axe Fx II.

@JVM410ftw Are you talking form experience? I have owned Mesa Dual Rec, Mesa Roadster, VOX AC30, Mesa Nomad, Hughes and Kettner Duotone and many other amps. I now have an Axe FX Ultra, and it sounds awesome! Please don't troll about a product that you don't know! You are flat, lifeless and digital, now go plug into your Line 6!

axFx owner. I can vouch that this thing is beyond awesome. No comparing it to any other unit, the combination of quality and flexibility is unparallelled. You can literally make it sound like your favorite amp...but better.
