James Edwards: Muris Varajic was a character, great technique but his technical song created issues for the band, which was a shame, but he still sounded great.

  • The drummer ain't bad.. I've listened to tons of musicians and I can definitly tell that he can play! He missed the 9/8 section totally yeah, BUT, just think if you made a mistake on stage and everyone pointed fingers at you and said you couldn't play. It's unfair you know. Fortunately most professionels don't listen to all the professor comments made by commen people on youtube..

  • @AlexGuitar1987 I think you are right. For the drummer, I'm sure he's really mad that he missed that too. Certainly Muris Varajic's piece was more complicated than most and it's just one of those things.

  • i hate that drummer :D

  • not as much as Muris does ;)

  • I think it is really a shame that the drummer (if it really was only the drummer) lost track during the song, because this is a really great song.

However, I wouldn't yell at the drummer - shit happens. It's a shame though.

I think that Muris is too technical and too good to ever be the Guitar Idol! =D

  • Fucking drummers...

  • I have the CD from this competition..he should've been the winner...NO QUESTION!!

  • Great guitarist but bad drummer!!!

  • Poor Muris. He was so disappointed after that 9/8 section. He looked like he didn't even care anymore.

  • Lol the drummer doesn't even seem to notice.

  • @lauriemonk ha ha ha good one

  • I'd like to know what hapened minutes after in backstage...

  • @AlexGuitar1987 Well, who knows. For me, odd meters are as natural as anything and playing them must not pose a challenge for a serious musician any more than a waltz would. Whether they should pay attention what people say... well, to each his own. Some comments can be useful others won't, but as for your boy, if U2 can qualify as musicians in your business, then he's going to be OK. Not everyone has to be good enough for Zappa, I suppose.

  • @gormarx in a 9/8 beat, it's less likely you will get back into it as in a 4/4. The second I just wanted to say about having a bad or even extreme bad day as you may put it in this case is, unless you REALLY know this drummer and what else he has done / can do, it's pointless to comment on his general playing. But luckily for him and many pro musicians, they do NOT listen to the many experts on youtube - and in fact I wouldn't be healthy for their playing if they did :-) Good day, sir!
