  • @beenn15 .... lol are you mad?? A few opportunists??? Read history and dont talk bull... it was an African practice to slave people and sell them... As for Spain, again it was not Spain but Europe. It was not Europe but the whole world. And it was not Europeans who started it but the Middle East, Asia, and Africa ... well before Europe. Learn a little modern history and isf you like try Anthropology.... you will get the picture!!!

  • @YoSoyZuri saying that a few opportunists sold their own family to europeans doesn't excuse Spain's responsibility. In fact, it only further proves a systemic pattern of manipulation that still exists today in the dealings with many African countries. Western corporations have been playing this game for centuries now.

  • What people like you need is to learn to get rid of stereotypes and learn to reject corrupt history that is full of nationalistic prejudice and selective-half-truths and get the facts!!

  • In the 15th century Europeans started to take slaves to Europe from Africa. However slavery was nothing new in Africa. For centuries Africans had sold other Africans to the Arabs as slaves. Europeans were not allowed to travel inland to find slaves. Instead Africans brought slaves to the coast. Any slaves who were not sold were either killed or used as slaves by other Africans.

  • You're only talking about the last offenders because in the ancient world slavery was common. The great civilisations of the Middle East, Sumerians, Egyptians, Assyrians, Persians & Israelites all kept slaves. In Asia slavery was common in India & China. The Greeks & the Romans kept huge numbers of slaves. The Celts who lived in Western Europe also kept slaves. The Mayans & the Aztecs too had slaves (the Incas didn't keep slaves).

  • @beenn15 ... Maybe it is you who need to get the facts right. The slavery issue is not only something the Europeans can be blamed for, but almost the entire world. The problem goes back a long time in human history and it has been documented. Black people also has practised slavery; the fact not one cares to mention when talking about "black people victimisation" is that Africans were actually SOLD BY THEIR OWN TRIBES to the European. .

  • @YoSoyZuri for a country with a history of slavery like Spain, you should be a little more sensitive toward those your ancestors have mistreated.

This display was common during slavery time... and it wasn't out of respect. It was done to mock those who weren't considered human beings. You don't seem to know your own history... Is Spain's involvement in the slavery trade part of the school curriculum on the mainland?... If not... that would explain your disconnect...

  • There're people of different races in this world and we're not going to deny or change that fact. People's differences make this planet more interesting, so it's a GOOD thing, something to respect & to celebrate, not to something to hide or cover up with false "political correctness". We can't make everyone in the planet fit with the "white" norm! It's getting psychotic - everyone tries to be white!

  • Is it racist to wear make up to impersonate a black people (like Ophra)? Should we make people feel they have to be ashamed to be black? Racist is to imply that a person should not mention colour or that a white actor should play a black person without make up in case the black person gets offended. Offended?.. That's true paranoia!

  • This is a truly cheeky Ophra! Check it out! LOL
