Demoing a great little amp, a Pignose Legendary 7-100. I'm by no means a great slide player, as this video painfully shows, but I keep trying anyway , heh. So rather than looking to me as a role model, check out Duane Allman, Ry Cooder, and Sonny Landreth, the 3 best slide players ever, imo. For youtubers, you can't get better than bluesbrotha15 (I admit I steal licks from that guy a lot) and johntuggle.

I also apologize for the sound quality and clipping, this was with my brothers crappy little Panasonic, but it's the best I could find.

2002 American Stratocaster
.013-.056 D'Addario Strings
Dunlop Plexiglass Slide

In case someone asks, for the first part I had Ry Cooder's "Feelin' Bad Blues" in my head, from Crossroads. For the second part I was thinking a combination of Eric Clapton's version of Leroy Carr's "Blues Before Sunrise" off of From the Cradle, and The White Stripes' version of Robert Johnson's "Stop Breaking Down Blues" from their BBC Sessions (off of the B-Side Collection album).

  • Huh. I have a very similar Strat and the exact same Pignose, but I've never been able to get the kind of distortion you have here without cranking the volume to ear-and-neighbor-destroying volumes. Weird.

  • i'd assume that's because this was recorded with everything at maximum. i forget but maybe my batteries were a little low? i think i remember a friend telling me that if the batteries are low in an amp like this it'll still distort when it's maxed out but it won't be as loud.

  • OMFG she's crying Bottleneck powa ^^

Your tuning is in DADGBE ?

  • i've always gone up instead of down, so EBEG#BE. i've noticed it makes the strings more taunt, better for slide playing.

  • Hey, have you ever tried to use your slide on your middle finger instead of your third? I find it easier to play with it on my middle finger because I have more control and I can play more notes without the slide getting in the way. I am getting one of these amps soon, I can't wait XD

  • nice playing bird legs.....lol jk.....seriously though nice vid and good playing

  • 13 gauge strings?

    whoaaa, lol.
