  • The fact that Sega, Microsoft and Nintendo abandoned this game really fucking pissing me off.

The fact that people have gone so far as to open up there own servers for this game, says alot for exactly how important this game was and still is to so many people, and Sega, Microsoft and Nintendo should take note of that.

I highly doubt you'll see that same kind of commitment from Halo or Gears of War players when those servers finally shut down.

  • Sega didn't have to make these good times end.

Phantasy Star Online still lives on

  • people killed this game their selves by hacking stealing items i remember back in the day someone took all my items off me when i was on line. After that i just give up i bet it was the same for other people too.

  • Permission to cry sir q.q

I remember when I was there when the Xbox servers and DC servers we're shut down,SO many good memories.

  • i remember in highschool i played this game all the way to 5 a.m. on a school night once i didnt go to sleep that i miss this game pso was so good but the only thing now i play is psu

  • @segacky It says a lot about how deep video game addiction runs when people are forced to open up private servers just so they can keep playing a game.

I loved the DC PSO and EP 1&2 on Gamecube and spend hundreds and hundreds of hours on it, but when it was done it was done and I moved on.

The people who makeup the core community of those private servers are people who have logged thousands of hours on the game and can't quit the game.

  • @HaloLvl43Legit You're definitely right, there are diehards for every game out there. But the dynamic is always different with MMORPGs, when people have spent hundreds or maybe even thousands of hours grinding levels, building clans or just chatting it up. You become a bit more connected to that game than any other. But, I get the Halo thing too. PSO and Halo were both first in their genres. Halo, the first great online console shooter. PSO, the first console MMO and both set very high bars.

  • @segacky but it happened, with Halo 2, so many were still on the servers and there is a method that allow you to play online without the LIVE subscription where you can find Halo 2 servers.

  • @lMagusl you're pretty fucking creepy

  • @segacky I guess you never heard of the last Halo 2 players? The guys, myself included, who had their Xboxes running for months, refusing to disconnect, keeping the game alive. Don't think there aren't die hards for every game.

  • @cheesewheel It was glorious.
