Congressman Joe Wilson's shout of "You Lie" has not only set off a national firestorm of debate - but one of merchandise, as well.

  • Its a complete lack of decency. You respect the office eveb if you dont respect the man.

A regular teabagger shouting that would be different. A member of congress shouting that in that venue was very disrespectful. Nancy Pelosi should have thrown him out for being out of order.

    as per house rules.

Cant say I expected much though. Republicans have no sense of decency, honor, patriotism or self respect. They are a bunsh of disorderly baffons incapable of any rational dialogue

  • It's more like, respect the institutions of the Republic.

A citizen heckling the Pres at a townhall or some other informal appearance is fine.

A Congressman heckling during a speech before a Joint Session of Congress--a formal state ceremony that doesn't happen more than once a year--violates standards of civility.

  • Plastic face Pelosi is a parody of herself. I'm surprised her skin didn't slide off her face when she turned her head that fast.

  • At 1:01, the lady said "I think it's disgusting." Well I think shes disgusting.

  • For all you idiots that follow obama blindly, he was actually lying.. do some research before you support something you don't know.. sheep! Quick! follow that guy cause we're too insecure and scared to do our own thing!

  • You're no better than Joe Wilson.

Why don't you say 'fuck' a couple more times?

  • I wish there had been a Democrat with enough gumption to say that when Bush was destroying the world.

  • ohh - i thought that was dreadful. rofl

  • Protip: ALL politicians lie. Also the GOP is currently in a state of disarray. The majority of the country generally doesn't like the republican party based on Bush's handling of... everything, and the composition of Congress reflects that. Republicans would have to gain back a whopping 79 seats in the House. That combined with the aforementioned fact, along with the fact that republicans have rarely controlled congress in recent decades makes republicans regaining control of the gov impossible.

  • I think people being interupted and being told that they're wrong is quite a good aspect of politics. I take it that during Obamas speech Obama isnt allowed to give way to other people for them to have their say?

I dont see why he should be allowed to stand there and lecture but recieve no feedback other than applaus.

  • One flaw with your theory, everyone is entitled to respect, and no one should be interrupted like that. It's only made a big deal because it's politics. I agree with Wilson, Democrats are playing "politics" but so were the Republicans when they were trying to turn people against President Obama's back-to-school speech.
