Around the world in 7 months and 7 days on a budget of 7,777 USD

New York City-based activist and blogger, Noel Hidalgo proofed that great ideas don't need big budgets. He adapted the tech-world open-source model to his travel project "On the Luck of Seven" by micro-financing it through donations on the Internet. During the trip he mostly slept on people's couches, using websites like couchsurfing.com or hospitalityclub.com. After 7 months and 7 days on the road he says that he learnt that the world is more similar than it is different and that we need the geeks to figure out alternative ways of progress.
