It just goes to show: lots of people think of the BBC as a crusty, old, tweedy institution but they're wrong.
What's interesting about this, though, is that such a simple trick, similar to The Maze and to a much older 'joke' on the internet, can be so effective and actually scare people.
The question of whether it's scarier to know that we're alone or to find out we're not is also borrowed (and changed) from "28 days later"

@MrSophh123 I'm pretty sure the first showing was after MoTD at about 11.30pm. Its the only time I saw this version though. After that the scream was toned down. Must have had lots of complaints lol
