The Simpsons arrive on your Amstrad CPC! I play through to completion this above average platformer, good value for money though with puzzles to solve, bosses to defeat and a few hidden secrets.

This version however is sadly lacking a lot of features that were present in the NES original, it's still not bad though.

From the instruction manual -

A WORD FROM BART SIMPSON Hello, fellow humans! Bartholomew J. Simpson here, with a very important secret: SPACE MUTANTS ARE INVADING SPRINGFIELD! That's right, man! A buncha slimy, horrible totally gross and putrid monsters are taking over the bodies of the people who live there and they wanna build a weapon that's gonna take over the entire planet! Pretty cool, huh? Anyway, yours truly is the only one who can see 'em cause of my X-Ray glasses - so it's up to me to stop 'em! I've gotta spraypaint things, get radical on my skateboard, use my trusty slingshot and in general, behave like a nuisance, man. Plus, with evil dudes like Nelson the bully and Sideshow Bob getting in my way, it's a good thing I've got the rest of the Simpsons to help me out! So if you're a decent person, a patriot and somebody who cares about this sorry planet, you'll do the right thing. Save the Earth! PLAY THIS GAME! Thanks, man.

  • Looks nice but I never liked The Sipsons anyway!

  • @Misel982001 Yea funny thing ... I had this game and also the Simpson's "album" they released (it had the "Do The Bartman" single on it ... ) before I had ever watched the damn cartoon! I was a strange kid. But this was when the Simpsons was only shown on Sky satellite TV in the UK and my parents refused to get it.

  • Id like to see you do some 8bit wars , 16bit wars etc , carry on were the real locomaniac left :P

  • @Grumphuttock Thanks dude! Interesting you say that cause well ... since loco left, and saw his farewell video ... I thought about it as I'd love to do something like that. His vids are the main reason I decided to step out in front of a mic and make these vids in the first place. But I'm a bit nervous about following in his footsteps though, its a bit like gatecrashing a party you weren't invited too :P I think some people wouldn't be happy, I dunno. Might do a trial vid in the new year.

  • Wasn't Vs the World on the AMSTRAD too?

  • @wrestletube1 Nope :(

  • I had this for CPC and never got past the first level. In the park there was always something prohibiting me from passing.. I see now that it must be because I never tried to fulfill the mission objective of spraying purple things since I was viewing it on a green monitor.

    ... In my defence, I was 7.

  • The ending was shite you'd think the people who made the game would put in a decent ending.

  • @Xyphoe me too come to think of it lol

  • @Xyphoe Yeah, even though me and loco had a fall out during his last few months on youtube and the 1hmps website I always respected his workings.

His 8-bit wars will live on by someone no matter who it ends up being.

I'm hoping it would be Xyphoe or Outoto72 as I'm really liking their commentary's on their videos and I can see that they both have the passion for those particular 3 microcomputers maybe others too which they would like to add into the series to make it even better than before.

  • @Xyphoe its not like that , its like someone leaves a band and another person steps in. theres always people who wont like it, but i think the majority would love it...i would :)

  • Had the Simpsons free with my amiga many years ago. Not played the cpc version, looks quite good tho.

  • @Xyphoe I had that song on a "Disco" music compilation CD year '91 :D

I didn't know this game was on the Amstrad, only completed the console version.

  • @Xyphoe hey buddy, do u know how many games were released for the CPC in 2010?I think they must be around 10....Is there gonna be a SFII real version for the CPC?

  • Great stuff. Nice colour scheme too. Still possible to recognise the show in the game too. May miss a few things (compared to other versions) but still pretty good for a amstrad version.
