The reason why these products are there is that they often come preinstalled in demo versions with your computer and a generally useless and EXTREMELY hard to remove. Back in 2007 I got myself an IBM laptop that came preinstalled with a demo version of Norton Antivirus that could not be removed by regular means. I literally had to hack the registry to make it gtfo.
I have no idea why people can't figure out how to remove Windows Live Messenger though, but oh well.

its probaly becuz these people get these fake antiviruses posing as some antivirus like mcafee or norton but the "antivirus" is actually planting viruses so they wanna remove it

Avast is cool way to protect ya self! But i try all tha kind of antivirus programs and i can tell ya, they all do tha work as long as yo stay out of porn sites and stuff!
Net is bussines, use it smart!

Sorry to say this but Sophos isnt on there because you arent that well known and globaly used as much as norton and macafee, I used sophos and it is not very user friendly at all, I currently use avast and i would recomend them to all users note they are a free service unlike most others

It's funny to us at Sophos, because McAfee and Norton are our biggest competitors - and it seems many people want to remove Norton, McAfee and AVG (according to Google).
McAfee and Symantec are Moriarty to Sophos's Sherlock Holmes. AVG, meanwhile, is Mrs Hudson.
