  • @disabled1955 I got the idea that Andrews was supposed to be a combination of Binghampton AND McHale--presumably part of the system, while working it for all he could.

  • @hollywoodfinch me too

  • Too bad the Universal logo was cut off. That was one of reasons why I watched this video. I skipped the rest of video 2 for that and most of this video. This show is good though.

  • I remember watching this show on TV in the 1960's! I wanted to see Kathy Nolan on this show after seeing The Real McCoys.

  • I've never gotten to see it, and it's pretty original. I like the way Edward Andrews isn't REALLY a disciplinarian, he just wants the place to stay the way it is. The funny thing is, he isn't even that much of a real sexist, he's just afraid the women will replace him and his men on the island, and they'll end up in the war!

  • P.S. Imagine Adrian trying to get away with a remark like "women drivers!" in 2009!

  • That makes good sense, except that George Furth as Mr. Beasley turned out to be more the Carpenter clone as the series went on. Trotter was totally swayed by Lt. Morgan.

  • only one season may be explained by Edward Andrews being another Captain Binghampton and Dick Sargeant another Lieutenant Carpenter; and/or by the fact that this show was up against the last half hour of the Ed Sullivan Show..i do remember watching this show because i was crazy about Kathleen Nolan, remembering her from 'The Real McCoys'..this show having such a short run, she's the ONLY cast member i really remember....
