It's the last garden update for July, and boy is it hot! With highs in the mid to upper 90s for the past few weeks, my garden has had it's share of troubles! Some are doing great, some not so good, and some just didn't make it, but with the fall season starting in in a few weeks, I got to get some tomato plants ready for the ground breaking.

  • Sounds about right for florida. Fall should give a good crop.

yeah, the forecast for next week has some 80's in it..wooo hooo :)

  • Oh hey I'm growing a mango tree from seed too! Just one from a grocery store mango... might be a hybrid but that's fine with me I just wanted to see if I can grow it! I haven't had any luck growing watermelon either. One of em got to be a pretty good size and one day I woke up to check the garden and the watermelon was split about 2 inches deep down all the way down the middle... ggrrr.

Look at all of those little seedlings ;)

Hey, good luck on your mangoes. I had been talking to a guy who grows them here and he told me the grow into fruiting trees in like 6 months. And yes, i'm with you on the melons..ggrr is right!
