Cuban bass-baritone Homero Pérez-Miranda in the title role of Verdi's somewhat primitive but magnificent opera.

Waking on a nightmare, the barbaric king takes the incubus as an unfavourable omen concerning an encouter with a mysterious, saintly figure (Aria: "Mentre gonfiarsi l'anima"). After a brief moment of weakness and horror, he assembles his troops in order to face the specter. (Cabaletta: "Oltre quel limite t'attendo spettro")

Buenos Aires Lírica production of the piece, staged at the Avenida Theater in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The splendid sets and costumes were designed by the stage director himself, Marcelo Perusso. The BA Lírica Orchestra conducted with Verdian verve by Javier Logioia Orbe.
