In this episode, Lucy assists Paul Winchell with setting up a new account. The two hit it off and Winchell tells Lucy that she can call on him if she ever needs a favor.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mooney has been trying to find a celebrity to entertain at a dinner the bank is having at the Beverly Ritz Hotel but has no luck. Lucy remembers Winchell's offer and visits him to ask for his help.

Paul Winchell's legendary ventriloquism skills are featured and a number of Winchell's puppets are displayed.

  • Paul Winchell used his earnings to put himself through medical school. He was also an inventor and probably the most famous invention of his is the artificial heart. I also liked him from an episode of The Brady Bunch where he played a hippie tv commercial director who hires the Brady family to be in his laundry detergent commercial.

  • I have to admit that I thought you were pulling my leg about the artificial heart. Googled it >> found it >>

"In 1963, he patented an artificial heart that he said was a collaboration with Henry J. Heimlich, inventor of the maneuver for choking victims. Mr. Winchell's device was considered the prototype for the one designed by Robert K. Jarvik that was successfully implanted in a human in 1982."

Thanks Marc. I won't doubt you again :)
