  • using the SRAM Apex groupset on my road bike, was curious how this one would be different, thanks for the review

  • Thanks for the review.

  • Thank you for your review and actually showing how the shifting mechanism works. It makes more sense now..

  • Thanks for this review - it seems like a fair discussion of the positives and negatives associated with the SRAM groupset. I've been investigating the difference between SRAM and Shimano as I've the choice of one or the other on the bike I've chosen.

  • @schnabeldrache i work at a bike shop and the thing that sold me on force was it is lighter than dura-ace and cheaper than ultegra 6700. this was the new sram force.when sram is set up right rear shifting requires absoloutly no effort what so ever and shifts more positivly and quickly compared to dura-ace. just feels solid.

  • Amazing review!

  • Just tested the SRAM Force in a local bike store. Before I tested it I was really hyped about it, but then I was really disappointed. The shifting "click" sound on the lever is really loud! which made it sound very annoying ot me. Also the power you have to apply to make a shift is waaay higher than with the dura-ace (which in comparison goes smooth like butter). If you don't believe it, try to find a bike shop where you can test it and form your own opinion about it. I prefer the ultegra now.

  • @xtremevelomechanix they don't? I've put 1500 miles on the force shifter and dura ace derailleur combo, they work fine. The derailleur is a function of the shifters which are a function of my hand.

  • @stringcatt buy a SRAM derailleur. Those don't work together.

  • Good review, based that you actually tested the product yourself for that amount of km gives a good reason behind what you say.
