It connects to your computer just like a printer, but instead of printing designs it cuts them with a small blade. With the machine connected to your computer, you'll get access to all of the fonts on your PC plus the thousands of cuttable designs. The Silhouette is a digital cutting tool can also use pens to draw. These pens are called sketch pens. It cuts paper and other materials like cardstock, adhesive vinyl, heat transfer material, rhinestone templates. NOTE: This has now been replaced by the NEW Silhouette CAMEO that can do 12x12 paper!

thanks, and there is not any other way to import vectors from illustrator? That silhouettes software does not support even eps files? thanks

You can cut directly from illustrator, but you have to first download and install the cutting master 2 software.

At this point you cannot open illustrator shapes with the studio software. We are working on a pro version of the software that will allow that in the future.

can you cut your own vectors? I want to cut my designs from illustrator. Is that possible or does it cut only the patterns included in the Silhouette software?
