Right, I meant feasible without a massive natural-lead die-off. Is it feasable a, organized, human-lead, world-wide decrease of population?
This comment has received too many negative votes show

it's not that every single minute of our lives needs to be amusing, Latouche is not a clown. I would say he fulfills his role quite admirably. cheers, a.

So we have to stop consumig more, even start consuming less, fine. So how do we deal with the other key issue, degrowing population? 1 child, 2 child policies? World-wide? is it feasible...?

Not only feasible, it is ENSURED that population will stop growing and perhaps decrease. The point is whether we'll let nature organize it, or we'll have the courage and coherence to organize it ourselves over the next decades (starting immediately)

The Mexican oil company, Pemex, released figures of the crude production in April. The decline is 13%, the most in more than 12 years, as output at its largest field, Cantarell declined faster than the company forecast.

that might be good news (from our point of view), we hope this is really so and it will continue the same. sure an abrupt decline of oil supplies would bring huge sufferings and uncertainty, but as they say in "Life at the End of Empire", we cannot expect to find new lands if we don't accept losing sight of the known coast for a while.
