I think his isolationist tendencies in dealing with Iran and Isreal, is why he is the best person for the job. He will give the president the cover he needs to dealing with a Middle East which has been as volitile as ever, and especially dealing with the eventual aftermath of Syria ( which I belive will evermore be a as far as it functions be a proxy for Iran) and in these volitile times what is needed most is a person who has a knowlegde for the limits of American power ( Iraq and Afganistan).
