This video is a scrapbook of photos taken of the Lawndale and Altgeld Gaylords during the time period of which the novel was written. Some of their rivals were: Imperial Gangsters, Maniac Latin Disciples, Insane Spanish Cobras, Orchestra Albany, Simon City Royals, Latin Lovers, Maniac Destroyers, Latin Dragons, and all Folk Nation gangs. Bred and defined in the 1950S era of White greaser gangs, the Gaylords steadily grew in Chicago to become a gang to be reckoned with. By the early 1980s, Spanish immigration threatened not only their reign, but the very survival of many. Michael Scott was a member of the Gaylords through this turbulent time period, and has written a story based on actual events, to offer all of us a ticket to take a suspenseful guided tour. The book not only gives the reader a roller coaster ride of traditional gang fights, but it also gives an historical account of what it took to walk the streets of Chicago as White youth in the 1970s and 1980s.

According to David Dawley who wrote "A Nation of Lords", he says Lawndale was Vice Lord hood.

@yungkhmerboi David Dawley is correct - the Vice Lords control Lawndale on the West Side around 16th Street - but this is the North Side, and Lawndale is a lonngggg street that runs North and South. That book "A Nation of Lords" is a good book - I have a copy of it right next to the computer. That was a good call. The author is thinking of changing the title of the book and I will bring it up to him how some people get Lawndale mixed up with the Vice Lords. Thank you!

L-A Gaylordz were some Bad Ass Mfers! These cats were Banging overtime! Putting in some serious work to keep their hood intact. My old man grew up on the corner of Schubert and Kimball. Him and his click (Logan Square Hoodlums) were more than willing to fuck with the OA's off Schubert and Spaulding in comparison to the Lords of Lawndale. OA's were'nt shit! He said that him and his guys made the mistake (a few times) of venturing over near L-A ST. The Lordz would all jump out and fuck them up!
