That's very true. Ultimately it's up to the parents to keep up the new routine... it's sometimes very hard to do honestly, and I could sympathize with it, but it's the parents fault if their behavior get's worse again. They were told how to control their kids, it's a matter of keeping with it long enough for the kids to learn that this is how things are.
these things don't happen overnight...
That's my say on this, but I"m not a parent, so I can't be too sure.

Andra seems to naturally have a domineering and self centered disposition. I think they will have problems with her attitude through her teen years, possibly forever.

kids are not stupid.they KNOW that the one who's really in charge is the strange woman with the blue blouse.as soon as she walks out the door they're going to keep testing her mother and to see if the limits are still the same.
it happened when we were kids.a stranger would tell us something we did was wrong and we would behave.but as soon as the stranger dissappeared we would keep it going (some times)
the kids don't know what the stranger is capable of,they're just afraid of her so they obey
