This is why I go through 10 lbs of bird seed in a week! These are wild Monk Parakeets in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area. They are descended from escapees and/or parrots intentionally released. Sorry for the shaky video- I was leaning out the back door with the camera. I didn't want to spook them. In the background (besides the airplanes) you'll hear my young Jardine's parrot who is learning to make all kinds of noises.

  • Very cool. What region of the world is this?

  • I have one as a pet, and my African Grays speak his language no matter what I do. Bob is in love with my brother, but will come out and play with me when he is not around. He treats me like a vicious intruder when Dave is around, but I love him anyway. I have put out an artificial nest hoping they will chose that rather than the power lines which end in certain death for them. I'll start putting out more bird food for them.

  • Thanks for posting, very relaxing and lovely to watch.
