In a brief appearance at J's Homestyle Cooking in Cedar Falls just four days before the Jan. 3 caucuses, Mitt Romney got some face time with supporters and national media, kicking off a galloping tour of the state.
He spoke informally about his vision for America, his priorities and repealing Obama care.
Charismatic and approachable in his jeans and long-sleeved shirt, he thanked early-morning risers for converging to the local eatery to greet him, shook hands, posed for pictures and asked if supporters knew the locations of their caucus sites.
But Romney did not touch on one of the issues of utmost importance to some of his supporters-- his views on life and abortion.
In the only two brief exchanges he had with fans seated at different tables-- as there was no formal Q&A session following his remarks--it was Roe v. Wade and banning federal funding for abortions that topped the list of two local families-- Linda and Richard Pint and Lisa Sevcik, her daughter, Brenda, an eighth-grader, and her mother, Shirley Davis.
