Read this description for information I didn't add in this video due to the length. FAQ's are at the bottom of this description.

When people try to find how to record video game consoles (Like I did at one point) on youtube and other places, they are generally flooded with videos talking about the Dazzle Platinum. By all means, the Dazzle is a GREAT unit; however, for people like me I couldn't bear to look at my PS3 and Xbox 360 in Standard definition. I didn't go pay $2000 for a TV to be played in standard definition!

This is the cheapest and best consumer way to do this (IE: There isn't alot of clutter like some alternatives). Honestly, the price you pay for this is great for what you get.

FAQ:
What consoles can you record with this?

Basically any console except all the hand helds EXCLUDING the PSP Slim. Since this has component input jacks, you ARE able to record the PSP Slim.

How do you connect the Hava unit to your PC?

In essence, you don't. You connect the HAVA unit to your local area network via ethernet cable or wirelessly. You can then receive the signal from your PC which you record simply by opening the Hava Player application and clicking the record button.

Why can't I get a wireless connection on my Hava unit?

For your Hava to send out a wireless connection, you have to set the hava up on a wireless connection (Using the install disk). Tedious, yes. But it's not THAT difficult.

How good is the recording quality?

The quality is actually quite super-b. I've never seen such good quality from a recorder (I've used 3 capture cards before this which all gave me blurry pictures instead of non-anti aliased ones). It's meant as a DVR to watch TV programs streamed... So it's VERY good. My videos just don't have the great quality because I use my Video Editor's "AutoUpload to Youtube" function, so I don't gotta fiddle with the size and quality; thus, at points where there is not really anything happening it becomes REALLY blurry.

Do I have to use the software the Hava comes with or can I use programs like Virtual Dub?

After testing it, programs like Virtual Dub do work which allows you to bypass the limitations that the Hava software comes with in terms of detail and frames per second. Please note that some people do have problems getting these programs to work with Hava because it says they "have no access to that driver"

What kind of a cable do you need to buy if I purchased the Hava Titanium or Platinum?I noticed that the component will not plug into the back of it. Where do you find the special cable that you need to purchase?

If you bought the Hava Platinum or Titanium you theoretically don't need to buy any cables. It comes with 2 component cables; however, if you bought you want to presumably hook it up to a console (like I think you do), you will need 2 cables. One would be the appropriate HD cable for your console, and the other would be a component extension cable or a component coupler. The latter will probably be more viable. Basically all a coupler is, is a small female double ended "cable" that is pretty self explanatory

Hey I have a dazzle ( and an HD tv ) my dazzle records with the red white and yellow inputs ( standard definiton ) but when I record, I want to be able to play in HD. So how can I set it up so that I'm playing in HD ( with the red blue and green inputs ) but recording to my dazzle ( with my red white and yellow inputs ) ?

the scaling of HDTV is good, even an old video game will look good, everything depends on the quality of the scaling of the TV, many people say the panasonic tvs come have a great scaling.

Technically speaking, "SD" CRT TV's have way better 'lag' than HDTV's, but I assume you meant if you don't use the splitter setup.

This does allow you to play HD for a fairly cheap price and no delay in the pass through.

Also look at the Pinnacle PCtoTV or whatever it's called -- it's literally the same thing, but rebranded.
