Thank you very much! i am learning to play fiddle and did not notice my bridge was all wrong until I saw this video and then checked out my fiddle. I got it all sorted out now! Thanks to your video. Best wishes from England :)

@Lavacateg That's easy. I've produced a great book/DVD video package with country style violin instruction, called "Fiddling for Beginners." Its available through the mail from my web site at captainfiddledotcom

Have you ever heard of that "secret" where you drill holes on the bottom of the bridge, under each string, for 'better' sound?

@UpcomingJedi A luthier friend of mine tries that, along with other things - removing small slivers of wood from the "wings" or flanges on the bridge, bridge thinning, etc. He finds that alterations help some violins, but can detract from the tone quality of others. Even tiny changes to the bridge will affect the tone, volume of sound produced, etc.

Is that the cvn 200?

@Oasix21 The violin in the video is about 90 years old, made in Germany. I've written a handy guide guide for saving money by picking up a good used violin rather than buying a new one. My book is called - The Fiddle and Violin Buyer's Guide, and its available for purchase online from my web site.
best,
