I wanted a roadbike, but i could not find one i liked. Since i buy used bicycles to resell on Craigslist i decided to build my own roadbike from parts i had. I took an old Miyata 210 roadbike which i bought at a rummage sale for 15 dollars, and installed a pair of Araya rims from an old Schwinn World Sport. I paid 5 dollars for the Schwinn at another rummage sale. Since the Miyata was originally a ten speed i had to use the rear derailur from the Schwinn to make it a 12 speed. The blackwall tires, gel cork handlebar tape, and gel seat i purchased brand new to give the bicycle a sporty look. Rides very smooth, and awesome!

    THUMBSUP!

  • Great Job! smart move to keep that old bike humming

  • I love older bikes. I used to ride a 1978 fuji supreme that I could keep up with the elite riders of my club when i was 16. I got on a new trek 1000 and couldn't keep up with them anymore. Older top end bike is always better than low end new bikes. You probably had or still need to change the chain and freewheel right? all the older bikes i get need always chains and sometimes most time actually new free wheels. how does she ride?
