Success is EVERYTHING in our society. If you aren't rich, talented, beautiful, and always positive you aren't "acceptable". My Facebook news feed is filled with comments about how being positive and believing in yourself will create success-just being ourselves isn't enough. That assumes that one can do it all alone. We're encouraged to be "rugged individualists" who never ask for help, and that's why we're so shut off from one another. Most of us feel that we can never meet those expectations.
