The video was produced in 1984 by the Australian metalworkers' union AMFSU to explain the state of the Prices and Wages Accord between the Labor government and the Australian Council of Trade Unions to the AMFSU's members. "It takes a hard and sometimes humorous look at the first year of the accord and concludes that the Federal Government has a long way to go before it can claium to have kept its part of the bargain" (Sydney Morning Herlad Aug 14 1984). The film features interviews with Government Ministers, the head of the Metal Employers' federation and trade unionists as well as acted sequences.
The AMFSU was Australia's largest trade union and had an active video production unit in its Education section, run by Alan Healey. The director of the film Karl Zwicky went on to a successful TV drama career. The "race caller" and narrator is Noel Hodda,
