Feelin' Nostalgic for My Hometown.

Every other photo is a personal photo but every photo used in this video represents a Memory. A street I traveled often, an apartment community I lived in, a building/train station that I would gaze at and try to imagine what it was like back in its hay days, The Free Press sign where my father worked, Hart Plaza where I would hang out, the People Mover that I loved to ride on, The Detroit Zoo, Trapper's Alley in Greek Town...well you get the picture. I grew up in Detroit. I performed shows in Detroit with my best friend, I gave birth in Detroit. I did some Living in Detroit. Detroit is and will always be a Big Part of Me and Who I Am because Detroit is no stranger to struggle and diversity and yet it continues to breathe and forge onward.

Song by Eternal - "Stay"
This is the kind of music I'd ride out to while driving down Woodward heading into Downtown then turning left onto Jefferson and taking that all the way to Belle Isle and just cruising the Island till I find that "Right" spot to park and chill at.

  • Hi Michelle, I enjoyed this video. It's nice to travel back in time occasionally and remember all of the events in our lives that make us who we are. I've never been to Detroit, so my only perspective is what I see and read in the news. That city has gone through some very difficult times, but there are some indications of a turn-around. I'm curious, did you leave Detroit because of their struggling economy - as so many people have, or did life just take you elsewhere for other reasons? Ray

  • @raycolondotcom Thanks Ray and no, I moved away from Detroit because I grew tired of the cold winters LOL. 33 yrs of it..I had had enough ;D

  • So much nicer than the pictures we usually see of Detroit and the upbeat music is perfect for your slide show. Thanks--I love Detroit too, it's where I grew up.

  • @01froglover Thank you. I actually miss that place lol. Peace
