It dos look like a cross between Andy's Time (1st cannon mission) and Liberation (1st Factory mission).

A nice simple "rush the HQ" strategy used in conjunction with the "bomber rush" then?

Nah I used one on each mission, Andy's Time I used the HQ rush on a base so I could get a Neotank or Rocket to destroy the cannon, on Liberation I used the Bomber rush, but in order to unlock Sturm I had to mess around for a few more days so I could get some points for power.
