At "The University @ SEMICON" booth, a special booth set up for technical colleges at SEMICON Japan 2008, which was held at the Makuhari Messe convention center, the Optoelectronics Laboratory of the Tomakomai National College of Technology introduced a method for easily achieving stereoscopic vision using one ordinary DLP type projector. The Optoelectronics Laboratory has not yet decided if it will commercialize this technology.

  • Where can I get polarized prism like the one in this video??

  • @masterpj55 good luck!!! :D

  • @MarioLover1256 It won't really work because the light coming off your screen is not polarized.

  • I didn't understand it very much... Do I need a prism for that? Can someone explain me this.... please !!!!!! I really want polarized 3D.

  • for some reason it didnt really word with my polarized glasses...

  • I have some polorized 3D glasses right now so im going to see if this works

  • Interesting concept, And with such a SIMPLE way of recording crosseye 3D (initially) and with arguably the best 3D system vs. the shutter system.

Also the side-by-side images definitly help when using the 3D tags in Youtube, Brilliant, When can we expect this to he sold to the consumer at a reasonable price?

  • hi, I just saw this and wow, it's great!

I have a question a bout the camera:

is the séparation between the 2 recorded view large enough?

normally a séparation of about 2,5 inches is used to capture 3D vidéos.

and a suggestion, why not use a widescreen format for the vidéo and rotate it 90° to obtain better vidéo proportion?

  • however smaller but less viewers so better calibration/set up possible

i already disigned and finish the final steps of the construction in 2 weeks.

(i got a lot of work at the moment)

it will be digital, while slightly slim

    and very HD

i already got a lot of premade movies and

maybe i will convert an movie to 3D much later one.

and if i have the time and interest for that part.

  • because it halves your screen! :'( and well stereoscopic filters reduce the brightness of your projector by 20% and it will still require a special screen (a silver screen) a silver screen is not of real silver but a thin layer of special paint. on a projector cloth wich contains very small pieces of metalls these reflect polarized waves and is the only way on achieving 3D with polarization. how do i know this? : well im making my own 3D cinema. (by own design) (just like imax)
