The secrecy, isolation, and lack of laws to assist those who try to leave enable this kind of atrocity.
Yes. I read her story. Once I began reading I couldn't put it down.

I admire her courage.
When she realised that she did not want her daughters to live as she did, that was when she began questioning the doctrine of her community.
Her desire for liberation was much stronger than her fear of community retribution.
If you read her expressions while she speaks the focus and determination is incredible.

Mormons are not the 'chosen people like their egos like to believe. Such a chauvinistic cult where women have no value and men have absolute authority could not have come from God. mainstream Mormons believe men will become Gods themselves and live in polygamy in heaven where they will populate their own planet. does this sound like Christianity to you? This is the legacy of Joseph Smith who the mormons claim 'wrote the truest book on the earth". Ummm. nope.

I LOVE MORMONISM !!! it is a wonderful opportunity to see first-hand how religions and prophets are created. No different than Islam 1400, Christianity 2000 years ago...and all the other crazy myths.

I recently read this book. My god..it is heartbreaking that this sort of thing still goes on in the world. Her spirit and strength are to be as admired as her courage.

@Mormonismisinsane I wouldnt exactly flatter your country. The german birth rate is extremely low and the muslim population just keeps on growing. Perhaps you should focus on the issues that are more of a concern to you...
God this woman in absolutely amazing and she has all this respect from me that I didn't even know I had for anyone.

I just read "Escape" by Carolyn Jessop, and I am telling you... you NEED to READ "Church of Lies" by Flora Jessop. This was all fascinating to me considering I was raised Mormon, and I always had issues with the Church History and also Section 132 of The Book of Mormon. Scary stuff...
