Of course you can compare Maynard and Chester. You can't just say objectively who's better. You can only say, if you like one version better.
For what I hear, Chester sings it more while Maynard is slightly more talking to whoever the song is adressed to. I prefer Maynards version.
And I don't think that A Thousand Suns is particularly bad. The progress of LP is just weird. It's like they all just said: Hahn, you produce whatever you want, we'll go with it.

@concantenation it isn't "wrong", if you want to hear the exact same notes, there isn't just one wrong, i'm sure of that. Maynard live never sings it with the same notes. I thing almost none singer do it exactly the same, and it's not wrong, they are not machines. However, Chester loses tempo cause the rythmic is difficult, but i like his version anyway.

I meen seriously you cant compare them, they are both great singers, its just about different styles. As a artist i think Maynard is better, but as a singer Chester is not worse than Maynard, its just comes down to what kind of music you like..
