Kumeyaay, are one of the many Native American tribes split by the USA-Mexican border. In Baja California a Kumeyaay elder, master basket weaver, mobilizes her village to turn ancient traditions into modern commodities. Thanks for posting this doc. Great work. It balances out who the Kumeyaay are. There are many families, clans, spread out on both sides of the border.
I'm working on a short piece about a Kumeyaay children's shelter in Tecate, Mexico. They need a lot of support and are starting to get it from all Kumeyaay people. Look for it soon!
