New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin explains how recycled Christmas trees have accelerated the regrowth of Louisiana's hurricane-battered wetlands. However, Nagin urges for a levy protection system to protect against hurricane threats in the near future.

When Hurricane Katrina hit the city of New Orleans in 2005, its mayor, Ray Nagin, was thrust into the international spotlight.
Both criticized for his handling of the immediate aftermath of the disaster, and highly critical of the delays in the Bush Administration's aid response, he became a polarizing figure. In Sydney as a guest of Sydney University's US Studies Centre, he and ABC broadcaster Phillip Adams have a relaxed after-dinner conversation about the days after Katrina hit, and how the rebuilding of New Orleans is progressing. - Australian Broadcasting Corporation
Clarence Ray Nagin, Jr. is the mayor of New Orleans. He was first elected on March 2, 2002, to succeed his fellow Democrat, Marc Morial. Nagin gained international attention in 2005 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, which devastated the New Orleans area. Before becoming Mayor, Nagin served as the vice president and general manager for Cox Communications in Southeast Louisiana. He transformed the local operations of the cable company from one of Cox's poorest performing markets to one of its most profitable assets. Mayor Nagin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at Tuskegee University in 1978 and received a Masters of Business Administration at Tulane University in 1994.

The use of discarded Christmas Trees to speed up the growth of the Wetlands in New Orleans is a BEAUTIFUL sign that the LOVE, and POWER of GOD is still ACTIVE in the LIVES of Katrina survivors!!!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Ray Nagin is a traitor to the U.S. Constitution (to which he swore an oath to uphold but failed to do so).
He does not deserve the respect you appear to give him.
