@kuratomi9091 Tell that to the guys that are using them on "soft" targets... A .50 cal is overkill but if the target is behind even a thin plane of glass and it is paramount that he gets liquidated in one shot, then heavy caliber like the .50 cal has to be used.
Even cheap pane glass can divert an AP bullet's path, that's why you compensate with a heavier bullet.

@davidreefer 300 rounds of 7.62 is heavy but doable if you are doing quick and fast missions, say from an helicopter or vehicle. But if I have to hump 30 kilometers to the missions site, I would much prefer a 5.56 SAW and with my spare ammo shared with my buddies.
About realism, this game is supposed to be an analogue for the real thing, a simulation confined to the limitations of gaming system and the gamer...so any critiques on realistic load-outs are valid ;)

@juki009 Not even that, the Barret M82, the M99 and even the M98B weren't created for shooting at human targets as their main purpose is to shoot down heavy bulletproof vehicles.

Cause I'm planning on buying
Try carrying an m82 for 10 km and lets see how well you can shoot. Special Forces are about mobility and applying pressure on the enemy at key points...
The Barrett M82 was designed for static take down of enemies from safe untouchable distances... not to be carried from building to building doing room clearing or street fighting

the gun in the game and in life is a single shot, so after every shot, a new cartridge must be inserted
