MykeWeiler..Have you ever been tortured? This is what this movie is about , the resilience of the human spirit..when the pain is absolutely out of this world, your brain will take you somewhere else ..

Ce film est une magnifique exception. une parenthèse onirique et cruelle du cinéma, née du courage d'un producteur, Arnon Michlan, et du talent de Terrry Gilliam.

Great movie.
Its so surreal, but its funny at the same time.
The end is very sad, however.
Anyone notice the tubes that go everywhere?

Too bad it's just a shitty visual copy of 1984 and it should be burnt... like yourself

I think that a lot of people just WANT to like this film and stand up for it because it makes them seem like intellectuals, but I cannot believe that anybody genuinely understood everywhere this movie was going and enjoyed every second of it the first time they saw it...

I think we need to be a little kinder to MykeWeiler. This movie is definitely not for all tastes, and like most Gilliam films the narrative is shortchanged in favor of astonishing visuals. But the sheer imagination of it is undeniable, so I think MykeWeiler needs to be a little kinder to the movie, even though it's not to his taste. On another note, I've never found this movie Orwellian. Orwell wrote about fascism; this movie is about bureaucracy. It definitely warrants multiple viewings.

Thanks for that. I am sorry I offended so many of this movies groupies, but to be honest in many ways this movie copied straight from 1984, and although it was different in many ways too, it still had so many similarities. Plus it was impossible to follow. The movie had a great message, and great symbolism, but it was too much for the viewer to enjoy it. If the whole movie is one giant slew of symbolism without any plot, it's basically a visual poem and not pleasing to watch!

Interesting how you insist it was too difficult to follow for the viewer to enjoy, and yet most viewers did enjoy it. Or that it's too abrasive to enjoy viewing, yet, again, most viewers did enjoy it. Maybe it's just too hard for 'you' to follow?
