Mimi Kirchner, a.k.a. mck254, spent twenty years "being distracted" by ceramics before she discovered her true calling, making dolls. Mimi's childhood was spent surrounded by crafting materials. Her mother was an avid seamstress interested in high fashion, and she collected an endless array of gorgeous fabrics over the course of her life. After her mother's passing, Mimi decided she wanted to make something out of her mother's legacy. Thus was the beginning of Mimi's doll making career.

  • I love your doll's! When you talked about your tattoo dolls, your evolution in your thinking process, reminded me of myself and my own way of thinking when an idea comes to me. I don't sew, ,so needless to say, I don't make dolls, and was surprised when I found myself so intrigued with yours! Have you ever considered making a line of dolls with all types of handicaps? My mind started thinking of soldier dolls from WW1 and dolls in uniforms with artificial limbs the way they would have looked !

  • I love the sleeping dolls. I make felt wall hangings, and many paged felt books; so love this medium a lot. I'm going to make my own doll now, thanks to your inspiration.

  • Uauuuu! I love!

  • Mimi is unique and I absolutely adore her work. I am the proud owner of one os her dolls. Thank you Mimi for the magic!
