@whitbyjet. You are clearly a pillock of the first order and know nothing about the lake district or its economy. I had friends that had businesses there and lots of friends who had boats. All gone now and I no longer have a boat there or contribute to the economy. Who has suffered? The locals of course who never wanted the ban in the first place. If you want peace and quiet in the lake district you dont head for Bowness! Oh well maybe you do because your an idiot!

We had some fantastic times at Windermere, since Windermere put the ban on our boat has stayed in the barn!

@whitbyjet65 Nothing good has come out of this ban. Businesses in the area have been affected, some have had to close as a result of having less people around, the lake itself is being affected, because it was used to being churned up by the boats, so now the water isnt as good of quality.
The people who are selfish are those who want the lake to themselves and want quietness.. There's plenty of places to choose in the Lake district for that.. How about the other lakes?

I am a good person, I never never caused any trouble, never crossed the police, never been the type to hang around with people outdoors, unless perhaps for a nice meal or bowling etc
Obviously you must think its only chavs that might want the 10 mile an hour law scrapped. My Dad is affiliated with Windermere town council and he was born in Windermere, and he thinks the ban is ludicrous too

screw the 10 mile an hour speedlimit - its such a pile of crap... i've lived right nexdt to windermere lake for 10 years and i neverr had any problem with the speedboats and stuff!
