I play in a DMB tribute band and have been studying Carters playing for 10+ years...even learning how to play 100% left-hand lead (I am dominant right). This demonstration is NOT disgrace and it correctly demonstrates the technical breakdown of how to play the fill. The only difference is that Carter leads with the left so he plays this fill usually Ride (on left), China (on right), Snare, Snare (L, R, L, R). Or when going down the toms (L, R, L, R).

@ambushIV Thanks for your input buddy and hats off to you for learning how to play 100% left-hand lead and a righty! That's an impressive feat! ;-)

i have been wondering how to play this for years (although you use the ride instead of the china) i cant tell you how thankful i am to finally see this played at a nice slow speed where you can actually see what he plays....and to the guy that said this is a discrace, first off its disgrace and second off he wasn't trying to play like carter he was simple explaining the fill..asshole.

@Sharpshooter226 Hey buddy. I'm so glad that the video has been a help for you. It's a really cool lick that has a ton of applications and variations. Enjoy using it! ;-)
Not sure why that guy thinks it's a disgrace but that's YouTube for you. You try to help your fellow drummers out and the trolls appear. Anyway, best of luck with your drumming! ;-)

yeah, this is a discrace to carter's drumming...

@TheDillybar7 Why? Do you even play the drums?
All this video is, is a demonstration of one of his carter's signature licks, the herta drum rudiment split between the ride cymbal, hi-tom and snare. He uses it a lot at the end of songs. Just because it's filmed on an electronic kit or whatever reason you don't like it doesn't mean it's a 'disgrace'. It shows what he does in isolation so drummers can understand it and then play it.
