  • I have one of those bikes. it rides very well, though it took some getting used to it, as I normally ride a fixed gear bike for transport.

    I have carried everything from laundry to piles of books to picture frams and the Xtracycle handled like a dream everytime.

    only downside is that the kickstand doesn't work very well, especially when the bike is loaded with cargo. But, if you lock the bike to something, it stands-up okay.

  • try a hiking pole under the seat, seems to work well for some applications.

  • @Davethewerewolf If you live in a rainier climate ( like I do) You can get a Tekdek, made from aluminum - It's lighter than the wooden deck, too!

    Theres something about these bikes that begs to be customized- a big part of the fun!

  • i guess the skateboard-esque deck would be great for brewski-induced college parties....idk. lol.
