How to make your own removable, free spinning stripper pole for less than $50! Here's the part list from top to bottom:

1 6"x6" square piece of plywood (optional)
1 1 1/2" flange
1 1 1/2" threaded nipple
1 aluminum electrical conduit, 1 1/4" diameter
1 1 1/4" adapter for conduit
1 1 1/4" flange
1 6"x6" piece of plywood
1 6" lazy susan (optional)
1 6"x6" piece of plywood (optional)
8 rubber furniture leg grippers (small circles or you might be able to find a solid cuttable sheet.
Respective number of bolts/screws (4 for each flange, 4 for each piece of plywood used except for the bottom, and 8 for the lazy susan if you decide to use it. Note: find bolts short enough for the bottom flange so they don't scrape against the floor or the bottom plywood if you decide to go with the lazy susan)

Notice the optional pieces, except for the top piece of plywood, is for the spinning version. The top piece of plywood can be skipped if you'd rather simply bolt the flange into the ceiling.

How I measured for the conduit:

-Do not buy the conduit yet unless you have a saw at home to cut the pole.
-Put the base together - plywood, lazy susan, flange, and adapter to give the pole threads.
-Install the top flange, no need to screw the nipple into the top flange yet.
-Place the base on the floor, directly below the top flange. This is the line the pole will be in when its in place.
-Using tape measure, place the end of the tape measure inside of the bottom adapter (the piece that has threads and where you will insert the conduit/pole to screw into the flange).
-Keep end of tape measure in the adapter (you may need a helper) and extend the tape up to the edge of the top flange where the nipple will be screwed in.
-Subtract a half inch from that measurement.

That should be your final measurement. Remember to measure twice just to make sure. I suggest subtracting a half inch just to leave room for movement between the top of the pole and the top nipple/flange. You can always return to the store and have them cut off more if needed, but you can't ever add height, so use caution.

Good luck and happy poling!

  • I am so excited to try this, but I'm super nervous about it falling off with me on it! How much weight can it take? and how sturdy is when you do inverts and other advanced moves??

  • @Blackcatsimone Check out my other videos. I perform several inverts in a reply to this video. The key is to make sure you have some weight on the pole or slightly push down on it before committing your full weight to it; let the furniture grippers do the work. The weight on the pole is what causes them to grip, so in turn, do not try to walk in a circle around the pole while pulling your weight to the side. The bottom WILL slide out, knocking you off balance!

  • what are the furniture grippers for??

  • @swampdonkey1122 When you put your weight on the pole, the grippers keep the bottom from slipping out from under you. :)

  • omg thanks for this vid!!! do u have any of u using it????? im seriously thinking about using ur instructions to make my own really soon!!! this is the best ive found with step by step instructions!!!!

  • @bellaricana I do! Check out my other videos on my channel. :)

  • @NSAisrecording Shear force? Maybe... but I think you mean centrifugal force. Regardless of what you may think, I am by no means incompetent and have done my homework. No one is forcing you to build it and/or use it. I know for a fact that it is safe if built as instructed. I've been using it for over two years now. Per haps someone as paranoid as you (made obvious by your user name) should seek entertainment elsewhere. Maybe a UFO convention? Just a suggestion. Have a nice day!

  • @NICABOO750 I'm honestly not sure. I'd have to see your pole and try to come up with something to modify it.

  • That's very impressive! I love innovative thinking. Is the pole about the same size as a 45mm?

  • send me all the instructions to my email at alexandriabeach14@yahoo.com. thanks.

  • also, how does it compare to a 300 dollar x pole?

  • wow. what a great idea. a friend gave me a stationary and ive been tryin to figure out how to make it a spinner. Such a simple idea! Thanks a bunch!

  • @mrsnewbooty22 I would if I could, but I recently took it down to build a new one. This was built 2 years ago, so the plywood and lazy susan needs to be replaced. I'll put up a video as soon as I get the parts to repair it.
