Hola! This is a really quick video of me singing Soprano 1 on my favorite part of the song A Boy And A Girl by the infamous Eric Whitacre. I thought it was okay (even though I was kinda off on entrances), but if you think otherwise...sorry, I tried okay? I'm hoping that some people will think it's at least okay or good. So I hope you can enjoy!

Again, if you haven't heard of the incredible Eric Whitacre (which if you haven't by now, you're insane! lol), please visit his myspace and blog spot down below:

  • pretty good, lots of flyleaf posters huh? ^_^

  • lol yeah...HUGE fan of them too hehehe

  • Jeez. I can think of a lot of college choruses and a cappella groups that would LOVE to have a soprano with a) such confidence in her high register, and b) such little VIBRATO in her high register. Why aren't you off making a name for yourself out there? =)

  • Wait...I'm confused. It's good to have little virbrato in a high register???

...I thought people wanted lots of virbrato when singing in their falsetto!

  • Stand up! you'll never have as much control even slightly hunched, let alone sitting hunched! - I'm just saying what my teacher would say, nice voice nevertheless.

  • Hey :) This is one of my favorite Songs of all time! :) You sounded reeeeeeeaaaaallly good! :)

  • great help for my madrigals audition. thanks :)

  • You have an amazing saprano voice!!! Thats comming from a guy who knows a lot of sapranos :)

  • @xoclkox well when you're singing things like eric whitacre, pure supranos (without vibrato i mean) will be amazing

  • @xoclkox I know this is like SUPER late considering this comment was made 2 YEARS ago, lol. But, in solo singing, lots of vibrato is awesome! But in choirs/ensembles, it's better to have less vibrato, because it's much easier to blend :) beautiful voice

  • @xoclkox you're right, when vibrato is nautural is very beautiful, and a very good thing :)

  • @xoclkox Depends! Not so much in choirs as in opera and oratorios. It's harder to get blending with masses of vibrato in the high register. I sadly have a lot of vibrato in mine, but it's fine because I can control it and want to sing opera. :]

    But good job!

  • Beautiful voice Courtney !

  • I dunno if it's the recording or not, but sounds out of tune to me in some parts, like at "beach." And definitely agree that you should stand up! :) But great! And as someone already mentioned, thank you SO much for not having ubervibratto. So distracting and annoying :)

  • ah these are my people, i love eric whitacre, but my fav son is sleep, i actualy just herd of this song a little wihle ago, but its freakin great, i realy like the vid, grate voice ;)
