Final War - Troops seize a luxury house of LTTE leader Prabhakaran- Feb 20, 2009

The Security Forces have seized another luxury house of terrorist leader Velupillei Prabhakaran. It was located within a High Security Zone in the vicinity of the Puthukkudiyiruppu town.
Reporting on this capture, Our Representative Sujith Vithanapathirana said this luxury house was equipped with all modern facilities. Our Representative Sujith Vithanapathirana reporting from the area said the LTTE is now attempting to grab the right to live from the innocent civilians. This luxury house has revealed more about the lives led by their leaders. The LTTE leader had lived in this underground palace which comprised three stories. Each room had an attached bath with hot and cold water and other luxuries. The walls were about two and half feet thick, built to sustain any air attack. The iron rods normally used to build bridges had been use in laying the concrete. It was protected with about 20 guard posts within the High Security Zone. There was a stair case which is believed to have been used in an emergency from the surface level to the third floor. The 14the Gajaba Regiment under the 681st Brigade of Lt. Col. Nilantha Gamage captured the location under the guidance of Task Force Eight and of the 53rd Division of Brigadier Kamal Gunarathne.
