Esri Rose, author of elven romantic suspense books 'Bound to Love Her' and 'Stolen Magic.'
Visit EsriRose.com and read an excerpt of Stolen Magic, Rose's second romantic-suspense book about Elves in Boulder, Colorado. (They get their life force from wilderness areas, if that helps this song make sense.) Thanks for listening!
Lyrics:
They have beauty and talent,
and a point on their ear.
And doubtless some of
their number are queer.
They make all their clothes out
of dirt and bug bits.
They go in the woods,
But only to sit.
They take care of the land, lookin' over our shoulder,
But who's gonna care for the ElvesInBoulder?
They hook up with humans
When their energy falls.
You'll have a good time
but no next-day phone call.
They'll mess with your mind
and they might take your cash.
But they'll never give you
a genital rash.
They take care of the land, lookin' over our shoulder,
But who's gonna care for the ElvesInBoulder?
They battle each other
With lightning bolts.
Like a Taser, it scrambles
Their bodies with volts.
They love the Internet
cell phones and Google,
They're going extinct,
And there's no rhyme for Google.
They take care of the land, lookin' over our shoulder,
But who's gonna care for the ElvesInBoulder?
(OOooOO)
I love all of the fae! thank you for the song, it tickled my soul :)

It's not a children's song, although I have written a tongue-in-cheek Elven children's song. I'd like to do a video with kids in it, which is difficult for two reasons: 1), I don't own any children, and 2) videos take a heck of a long time -- not good for impatient kiddos.

Lovely...Just what I needed to here just when I needed to here it. Now to taser an elf... is that wrong?

Ha! Depends on the elf.

Did a book signing with Carrie Vaughn and Lynda Hilburn, and one of Carrie's friends pointed out that "frugal' rhymes with "Google." Crap.
