Our 3 wheeler to 2 wheeler conversion, from start to finish and test ride. This bike was created from a 82 Honda ATC 200M and a 85 Honda 250 Big Red, and a 86 Honda 350XL. All three were combined into one Big Wheel motorcycle we call the Honda Hog. (Also referred to as the Honda Fat Cat, the Honda Hippo and the Hondapotamus in this video.)

Video contains descriptions on the process, including the swingarm, monoshock, frame, pit bike exhaust, carburetor, seat, tank and wheels, part fabrication and the modifications required, with a detailed section showing the special fabricated sprocket extension.

  • did you have any issues with your leg getting gnawed on from extending drive sprocket? i saw another guy make one with a jackshaft and it kept the chain away from potentially chewing your leg off, just curious, i wanna build one as well, just got started on it, thanx

  • @GORT192 no its far better with the sproket extension rather than a jackshaft because the sprocket is in the right place geometrically for suspension travel and half the moving parts and more rednecky ....thanks....

  • keep pressing 2

  • @nruddle5 ? huh?

  • @RedneckHillbillies:

How does it steer? The Yamaha BW200 had major steering problems. I wonder how this compares. I looks easier. I suspect the BW problem was related to either the mismatched wheels or the front fork degree (rake and trail). What do you think?

  • @zhuliu we kept the factory front fork and rake angle and the rear set up as factory as possible.....it rides quite nice, although a little"squishy"....because of the low pressure big tires......cheers

  • @shockman557 @offroadingfreack97 @3wheeltrike This was built from parts and pieces from a few different machines, most of them from a motorcycle wrecking yard. We already have other trikes which we've enjoyed for years and wanted a bigwheel style bike. So it's not "ruining" a good trike, it's building something new out of old junk.

  • @notsorare yeah it could use some improvements that I'll do if I ever have some time. For now I kinda like the chain flailing against my ankles because it's more rednecky ;p
