I'm sure it's Johnson himself. The piano roll company paid him to have his name on the label, why would they additionally pay someone else to actually play the music? Johnson was a very capable player.

this isnt max kortlander. its james p johnson. i have the sheet music to this. found a midi file of it and converted it to sheet music. however, not all chords are playable. definately editing added

@JamesPriceJohnson It very well may be Johnson, but where is his signature striding left hand with single bass notes? And just because you have the sheet music doesn't mean he played the roll.
